Tsavo West National Park
Tsavo West National Park Overview
Tsavo West National Park is smaller than Tsavo East but has stunning scenery that makes it worth visiting. The park is known for its beautiful landscapes, including the Shetani Lava Flows, Mzima Springs, and the Chaimu Crater. These different environments are fascinating to explore.
The park covers 9,065 square kilometers and is home to the Big Five: lions, buffalos, leopards, elephants, and black rhinos, which can often be seen in the Ngulia Sanctuary. Along with these amazing animals, you’ll also find giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and many birds. A rare treat is spotting the endangered African wild dogs, which are seen here regularly.
Tsavo West was established in 1948 and even has remains of prehistoric settlements, showing its long history. The park is a great place for wildlife lovers, with its mix of animals and natural beauty. Whether you’re interested in wildlife, stunning landscapes, or history, Tsavo West National Park has something for everyone!
