Overview
Embark on a special Kenya & Tanzania combined safari that trails the wildebeest migration paths from Masai Mara to Serengeti national park – Explore the most famous parks in Kenya and Tanzania in style. This is an all year round safari with rewarding game viewing experience. Ngorongoro Crater is said to have the world densest population of lion. Masai Mara together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing eco-system.. The Ngorongoro crater also offers amazing wildlife viewing and scenery.
TOUR PLAN
Day 1. Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
Morning Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi and depart for the highlights of your safari. Drive via the scenic Great Rift Valley to the magical Masai Mara.
Masai Mara (Masai Mara) National Reserve is situated in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing eco-system. Home and famous for the World’s “Great Migration”, one of the awe-inspiring natural events.
Make sure you have your safari book planned out that includes the Masai Mara. I am sure you have heard the wildebeest migration is nothing short of amazing. It is one of the things you have to add to your bucket list. And best time to be in Kenya for it is July –October.
You will arrive in time for lunch and check in at the Mara Sopa Lodge.
Later on after lunch and a little bit of relaxation, you will leave the lodge for an afternoon game drive at the reserve which will take 2hrs and later return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2. Masai Mara National Reserve
On this day you will have a full day spent in Masai Mara National Reserve with game drives between the meals as follows;
- Have an early morning Game drive with packed breakfast.
- You will then return to the lodge for n early lunch and then spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure like swimming in the pool.
- More game drives in the afternoon in search of more animals.
- Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.
OR
Alternatively you can have an early breakfast and then take a full day game drives with packed lunch boxes at no extra cost to return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3. Masai Mara National Reserve
You will have another full day spent exploring the park in search of the big 5 trailing the wildebeest migration herds and predators with game drives between the meals OR full day game drives with packed lunch boxes at no extra cost where you will return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight
Recommended Optional balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost.
Overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge.
Day 4. Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park
Have your early morning breakfast and then depart for Serengeti National Park in Tanzania via Isebania border.
Serengeti is the oldest and most popular National Park and the jewel in the crown of Tanzania’s protected areas. Serengeti is also a World heritage site and was recently proclaimed a 7th worldwide wonder for its annual wildebeest and zebras Migration that flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every year.
You will arrive with game drives enroute and check in at the Osero Serengeti Tented Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 5. Serengeti National Park
Have an early morning breakfast. After breakfast you will leave the camp to spend the full day viewing game in the vast Serengeti plains with packed lunch boxes.
Serengeti is easily Tanzania’s most famous national park, and it’s also the largest, at 14,763 square kilometres of protected area that borders Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Park It is the Migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back.
The Wildebeest travel through a variety of parks, reserves and protected areas and through a variety of habitat. Join us to explore the different forms of vegetation and landscapes of the Serengeti ecosystem and meet some of their most fascinating inhabitants.
Meals and overnight at Osero Serengeti Tented Camp.
Day 6. Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
Enjoy an early breakfast at the Camp and then depart with lunch boxes for Ngorongoro Conservancy Area. This is also a protected area and a World Heritage Site. The area is named after Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera within the area.
The jewel in Ngorongoro’s crown is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest un flooded and unbroken caldera in the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder.
Later in the evening you will check in for dinner and overnight at the Bougainvillea Safari Lodge.
Day 7. Ngorongoro Crater to Nairobi
After breakfast at the Lodge you will drive back to Nairobi via Namanga border and drop off at the airport for your home bound flight.
