TOUR PLAN

Day 1: Arrival - Drive to Parc des Volcans

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Kigali for a briefing on your safari. Depending on your arrival time, go for a short city tour including a visit to the genocide memorial and handicraft shops. Afterwards, proceed with your journey to Parc des Volcans with views of the great, old volcanoes and green rolling hills. Meals and your accommodation are at the lodge.

Begin your day with a transfer to the park headquarters, where the staff will provide a detailed briefing. Equipped with essential items such as drinking water, a packed lunch, and a walking stick, start your journey into the forest in pursuit of the renowned mountain gorillas.

As you venture into the lush rainforest, you’ll find yourself enveloped in the enchanting atmosphere that serves as the gorillas’ habitat. The trek through the cultivated foothills of the Virunga Mountains can be both muddy and demanding, but it promises an unforgettable experience.

In the morning after breakfast, you will again go to the park headquarters and later you will head out to the forest in search of the rare golden monkeys. Alternatively, you may opt to visit Dian Fossey’s grave or climb one of the famous volcanoes (Visoke or Muhabura). Return to the lodge for your meals and accommodations.

After breakfast, you’ll embark on a drive back to Kigali, taking in the stunning views along the way. Depending on your departure schedule, you may have the opportunity for a short city tour and lunch before heading to the airport for your flight.
