HALF OR FULL DAY TRIP TO PARADISE LOST (KIAMBU CAVES)
MT LONGONOT & LAKE NAIVASHA
Leave Nairobi early in the morning and drive westwards stopping at the view point on the Great Rift Valley and view the Loita plains where you can also see Lake Naivasha sparkling in the sun thousands of feet below. You will then proceed to Lake Naivasha (The highest lake in the Rift Valley). Lake Naivasha is famous in the 1930's as a staging post for Imperial Airways Flying Boat Services from Durban to London. You can also have a boat ride to the Crescent Island (Optional activity).
Crescent Island is one of the few places in all Africa where you can wander on foot among the herds of Zebras, Wildebeests, Gazelle and Giraffe and -no predators.DAY TRIP TO THE CHIMPANZEES OL PEJETA SANCTUARY
Depart early in the morning for Mt Kenya area past Pineapple, coffee, banana plantation to one of the largest open air markets in East an Central Africa Karatina. A brief stop to sample what is sold and to meet the local inhabitants who belong to the biggest tribe in Kenya - the Kikuyu. You will then proceed to the Sweet waters game reserve/ranch and chimps sanctuary, which is on your way to Mt Kenya in time for lunch at the Sweet Waters Serena Camp. After lunch you will have a game viewing and visit the chimps in the one - squire kilometer sanctuary. The sanctuary is home to more than 26 orphaned chimps age varying from 2-15 years most of which came from Jane Goodall Institute in Burundi. (Latest inclusion in baby Zee that was rescued from a pet shop in the United Arab Emirates) Later you will return to Nairobi in the late evening..
